📝 Web Designer's Pre-Handoff Checklist

Clients remember when you go the extra mile. Double-checking everything before handoff shows professionalism, builds trust, and gives them a reason to come back.

Responsiveness Across Devices
Check how the website looks and works on desktop, mobile, tablet, and all screen sizes. Pay extra attention to text sizes and spacing, padding between elements, embedded links, etc.

Global Site Settings
Make sure the default fonts and colors are set correctly for the project. This ensures that if the client adds new blocks or edits existing ones, everything stays consistent.

Font Licensing
Always double-check the licenses for fonts you use in the project. Without proper permissions, clients risk payment demands or even legal action from the copyright holder.

Online Forms
If the website has forms, send a test submission to ensure the data collection service works correctly. For instance, if submissions are sent by email, check that they don't go to Spam.

SEO Settings
If you disabled any pages from indexing during the project, don't forget to turn it back on. Add a Title, Description, and H1 tag to every page to help search engines index the site faster.

Buttons & Links
Check that buttons work, internal links lead to the right pages, and external links open in a new tab. Pay close attention to mobile, where mislinked buttons are easier to miss.

Favicon & Open Graph Image
Add light and dark favicons so your website stands out in tabs and search results. Set up an Open Graph image and titles so shared links display the correct preview.

404 Page
Every website needs a custom error page with a clear message and a "Return to Homepage" button to guide users from wrong or deleted URLs and keep the experience smooth.
