💻 5 Mistakes To Avoid When Building Your First Landing Page

Building your first landing page often comes with mistakes that can hurt its effectiveness. Here are five common ones to avoid 👇
1. Following Competitors Blindly
When building your landing page, don't copy sections from competitors just because "everyone else has them." Focus on your own content and make sure it's valuable and share-worthy.
2. Unclear Value Proposition
It should be clear at a glance in the hero section what you offer and what makes you unique. If visitors don't get it right away, they'll leave. Keep it bold, direct, and compelling.
3. Trying To Please Everyone
Trying to appeal to everyone weakens your message. Instead, focus on your ideal audience. Talk about their needs, address pain points, and offer solutions tailored specifically to them.
4. Information Overload
Too much information overwhelms visitors. Be clear and concise, highlighting key benefits. If a section requires too much scrolling, shorten the text and break it into smaller parts.
5. Too Many CTAs
Once you have a visitor's attention, avoid confusing them with multiple possible actions. Use one clear CTA, like signing up or submitting a request. Focusing on one goal boosts conversions.
If I could give advice to my past self about creating my first landing page, it would be this: Don't make it all about you. Focus less on your background and more on how your service solves your client's problems—your landing page isn't your CV!
