MCP for Managing Tilda Projects with AI Agents

Tilda's MCP server lets you connect an AI agent, such as Claude, Cursor, or another MCP-compatible assistant, to your projects and manage your website using prompts. The AI can work with pre-designed blocks, manage your Product Catalog, and create and edit posts in Feeds.

Learn more about what you can do with MCP.

What Is MCP and How Does It Work?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that allows AI applications to connect to external services, data, and tools. Simply put, it acts as a bridge between an AI assistant and a service, giving the assistant access to the information and capabilities that service makes available.

With MCP, an AI assistant can do more than just tell you what to click. When the connected service provides the necessary tools, the assistant can perform actions on your behalf — such as creating pages, editing blocks, updating content, and more. You stay in control and can refine the task simply by chatting with the AI agent.

Why use it?
— Work faster: Just describe what you need in plain language — there's no need to search through settings.
— Save time on routine tasks: Make bulk edits, add content, and apply repetitive changes.
— Combine different tools: An agent can take data from a spreadsheet/document and transfer it directly to your website.

What Can Tilda's MCP Server Do?

Using MCP, an AI agent can work with three key areas of the Tilda interface:

Page Editor. Create pages, add and remove blocks, edit text, images, and buttons, update design settings, and publish pages.

Feeds. Create feeds and categories, add and edit posts, and manage publishing.

Product Catalog. Add and edit products, prices, and inventory; manage product categories and their characteristics, discounts, orders, and loyalty programs.

To see the full list of available actions, simply ask the connected AI assistant.
Note that the MCP server is currently in beta. We're continuing to improve it, with new AI modules and capabilities being added in the near future.

How to Work with AI Agents: Example Prompts

Feeds: Create a Blog in Just a Few Minutes

A blog can help answer customer questions, showcase your expertise, and drive organic traffic from search engines. But keeping it updated manually can be time-consuming: You need to come up with post ideas, write the articles, choose cover images, and publish the posts on your website.

With MCP, you can delegate all of this to an AI agent. It can write posts on relevant topics in Feeds, find suitable images, publish the posts, and display them as cards on a specific page of your website.
Example prompt: Create three posts for the "Dance Studio" feed covering available dance styles, choosing the right equipment, and preparing for a first class. Use a friendly tone for parents of children aged 4-12. Add cover images, publish the posts, and display them in a grid above the sign-up form on the "Dance for Kids Main Page."

Product Catalog: Make Bulk Changes Without the Manual Work

When your store has hundreds of products, even a simple update can become a time-consuming task. An AI agent can handle it for you:

— Inventory. Update stock levels for a list of products or set inventory to zero for all products.
— Prices. Increase prices by 10% for products in a specific category, launch a seasonal sale with both the original and sale prices, or revert to the original prices when the promotion ends.
— Categories. Create a new "Sale" category and move all products priced over $50 to it.
— Loyalty program. Create loyalty levels with different discount rates and thresholds for moving between them.
— Descriptions and options. Add descriptions and options to products, and check the entire catalog for typos and inconsistencies.
Example prompt: Increase prices by 10% for all products in the "Winter Coats" category. Apply a 20% discount to all Berries products and show the original prices.

Page Editor: Easily Edit Multiple Pages

MVP allows an AI agent to work with pre-designed blocks and edit pages. For example, if you want to add an FAQ block to every page on your website, you can ask the agent to create an Alias block with a list of frequently asked questions and add it across the entire site.
Example prompt: Create an Alias block with frequently asked questions for the "Dance Studio" project. Add it to every page on the website, just above the footer

How to Connect an AI Agent to Tilda

The MCP server connects to an AI agent using a key you generate in your Tilda profile. You can set different access permissions for each key to control what the agent can do. For example, you can create a key that gives access only to the Product Catalog. The agent will then be able to update prices and inventory, but won't have access to your pages or Feeds.

You can revoke a key at any time if you no longer need it.
